One of the most important steps early in the process of buying a home is arranging for a mortgage. The earlier you find a lender and a mortgage program that will work for you, the better.  I have worked with several mortgage lenders, but I encourage you to shop around and find a program that's right for your situation.

Another important step, later in the home buying process, is having a home inspection done.  I have worked with several inspectors in the area, but there are many more to choose from. I encourage you to shop around and find someone who is available in the timeframe that you need and also someone who gives you a high level of confidence.

The ultimate step in the process of buying a home is Settlement or "Closing."  This is the legal process in which you become the owner of the property you are buying.  At Settlement, you will sign your name to a slew of legal documents, effectively making you a homeowner.  In the Commonwealth of Virginia, either an attorney or a "Settlement Company" can handle the paperwork required to make you a homeowner. There are advantages to using either an attorney or a Settlement Company.  I will help you understand your options, and I can recommend Settlement options for either Attorneys or Settlement Companies.
