An important part of the home buying process involves the purchaser choosing to employ a home inspector to conduct a home inspection on the property to be purchased.  Typically, I will advise my clients to make a contract for purchase of a home contingent on the home inspection, meaning that the home inspection is contractually part of the deal, and that there are processes and procedures built into the contract that allow for an inspection and subsequent discussion about the condition of the home.  Often times, buyers and sellers will need to address items that are in need of repair. The role of the Realtor is to help facilitate the home inspection process and negotiations about required repairs.

As a service to my clients, I am providing a list of home inspectors with whom I have had direct experience (see below).  This is not a comprehensive list of home inspectors in the Charlottesville area, and I encourage clients to shop around - you will find a range of prices, and availability / scheduling is also a consideration.
